WELCOME BACK!!!!
Here we are again after a long, long holiday to work and learn all together and why not? to have fun as well.
As most of my students this year didn't know about the existence of my blog (and also Chari's and Rosario's), I would like to explain them that these blogs have been created for them to practice and improve their English in an original and funny way.
You can use the blog as a way to communicate with other students and the teachers. To do that, you just need to write comments about the activities proposed.
Here you also have access to different activities related to vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, etc so that you can practise and revise contents for your exams.
Participation is obviously optional but I will take into account those students that show interest in improving their English and also their marks.
Also I would you to tell me your ideas, your likes and dislikes , suggestions so that you can help me with the blog, making it more interesting for you.
The most interesting thing I did this summer was travelling to London and Dublin. I already knew London but not Dublin. It's wonderful. I really recommend you to visit Ireland. It's an amazing country with wonderful landscapes. Here you can have a look at some pictures I took during my holidays there:

I'LL MISS YOU ALL!!!!
As the other teachers, I also wanted to say goodbye to all the students, especially to the students in 4th ESO in general (and of course to my students of 4º A).
I'm very sad because I know I'm going to miss you and the good moments together in class.
Thanks for your visits to my blog and thanks for your interest and your collaboration. I hope you have liked and enjoyed it.
I hope to see you next year (if you want to come to the high school to visit me).
If you need me, I'll be very glad to help you if I can. (First Conditional-Jajajaja!!!).
I hope you have learnt some English with me. It's been a pleasure to be your English teacher.
Good luck to all of you and take care!!!!!
Have a nice holiday!!! Now it's time to relax, at last!!!!
I'LL MISS YOU ALL!!!!!
PS: I forgot to give you my email address. I'll give it to you on Wednesday during the lunch we are going to have together.
FINALLY I ALSO WANTED TO DEDICATE YOU ONE OF MY FAVOURITE SONGS THAT TALKS ABOUT MISSING SOMEONE.
Here are the lyrics. They are a bit difficult because the song is written in American English.
I hope you like it!!!.
Yeah... this right here (tell me why)
Goes out, to everyone, that has lost someone
That they truly loved (c'mon, check it out)
Seems like yesterday we used to rock the show
I laced the track, you locked the flow
So far from hangin on the block for dough
Notorious, they got to know that
Life ain't always what it seem to be (uh-uh)
Words can't express what you mean to me
Even though you're gone, we still a team
Through your family, I'll fulfill your dream (that's right)
In the future, can't wait to see
If you'll open up the gates for me
Reminisce some time, the night they took my friend (uh-huh)
Try to black it out, but it plays again
When it's real, feelings hard to conceal
Can't imagine all the pain I feel
Give anything to hear half your breath (half your breath)
I know you still living your life, after death
Every step I take, every move I make
Every single day, every time I pray
I'll be missing you
Thinkin of the day, when you went away
What a life to take, what a bond to break
I'll be missing yo
It's kinda hard with you not around (yeah)
Know you in heaven smilin down (eheh)
Watchin us while we pray for you
Every day we pray for you
Til the day we meet again
In my heart is where I'll keep you friend
Memories give me the strength I need (uh-huh) to proceed
Strength I need to believe
My thoughts Big I just can't define (can't define)
Wish I coul turn back the hands of time
Us in the six, shop for new clothes and kicks
You and me taking flicks
Makin hits, stages they receive you on
Still can't believe you're gone (can't believe you're gone)
Give anything to hear half your breath (half your breath)
I know you still living you're life, after death
Every step I take, every move I make
Every single day, every time I pray
I'll be missing you
Thinkin of the day, when you went away
What a life to take, what a bond to break
I'll be missing yo
One black morning
When this life is over
I know
I'll see your face
Every night I pray, every step I take
Every move I make, every single day
Every night I pray, every step I take
Every day that passes
Every move I make, every single day
Is a day that I get closer
To seeing you again
Every night I pray, every step I take
We miss you Big... and we won't stop
Every move I make, every single day
Cause we can't stop... that's right
Every night I pray, every step I take
Every move I make, every single day
We miss you Big

Although a bit late, here you have two pages where you can find some information about how Easter and the Holy Week are celebrated in Britain. I guess you don't know what the Easter Bunny, Easter eggs, Palm Sunday, Good Friday or Holy Saturday are. Have a look at these pages below to learn how different Easter and Holy Week celebrations are in Britain and Spain.
"Easter is the oldest and the most important Christian festival, the celebration of the death and coming to life again of Jesus Christ. For Christians, the dawn of Easter Sunday with its message of new life is the highest point of the year".
"Holy Week is the week leading up to Easter, commemorating events in the last days of Christ's life. The first day of Holy Week is Palm Sunday (Domingo de Ramos). "
Here you have also a video of our 'Holy Week' in Seville. It is about 'San Gonzalo', one of my neighbourhood's "cofradias".

WORKING WITH 'THE SIMPSONS'
First I want you to click on the link below and watch the following video about The Simpsons.
Then, try to complete the fragment. I also want you to stop the video, write down and translate the words you can see written on the wall.
Homer: "No ______ and no beer make Homer ___________, ___________
Marge: go __________. "
Homer: "Don't mind if I do"
Marge: "Stay _________ from me, Homer"
Homer: "Give me the _______, Marge. Give me the ________. Give me ________, come on, give me the ________".
Here you have the opportunity to practise and improve your English in a different and more original way. You will find activities, songs and links to some useful and interesting sites.
I hope you have fun!!
And remember: "When there's a will, there's a way!!!"
I welcome all comments and suggestions!! But please, in English!!

WORKING WITH SONGS
This time we are going to work with the new single of my favourite English group. You have the lyrics below and a link to listen to the song (you can stop and listen to the song all the times you need it to complete the lyrics). To complete the task, copy the lyrics in a word document and add the missing words in a different colour. Then, send it to my e-mail address (I will give you my e-mail in class, ok?).
I know this song can be a bit difficult for you but I want to test your ability to understand a song in English when you are alone and relaxed at home (with no pressure) and without receiving any help.
P.S I need suggestions about the type of music and songs you like to use them on another occasion. Cheers!!
TAKE THAT 'Patience'
Just have a little _________
I'm still hurting from a love I lost
I 'm feeling your frustration
Any minute all the pain will ______
Just hold me close inside your arms tonight
Don't be too hard on my _________

My heart is numb, has no ________
So while I'm still healing
Just try and have a little patience
I really wanna start over again
I know you wanna be my _________
The one that I can always depend
I'll try to be strong, believe me
I'm trying to move on
I t's complicated but understand me
Cause I need _______
My heart is numb has no feeling
So while I'm still healing
Just try and have a little patience, yeah

Cause these scars run so deep
It's been hard, but I have to __________ in me
Have a little patience
Have a little patience
'Cause I,

So while I'm still healing
Just try and have a little... patience
